Limestone

Limestone steps away from timber altogether. The decor is a pale mineral grey with the soft mottled variation of cut limestone rather than the linear grain of a plank, and while the board format is still a plank, the read at floor level is closer to a large-format stone tile.

It is the right choice when the brief calls for stone but the practicalities do not. Real limestone is porous, cold underfoot, heavy, expensive to lay and requires sealing. This floor gives the same visual language while being fully waterproof, warm underfoot thanks to the cork backing, and installable as a floating floor in a day rather than a week.

That warmth is the significant difference. Stone floors are cold, and in a Peninsula winter that is a real objection in a bathroom or an entry. The 1.5mm cork layer insulates against a cold slab and takes the chill out of the surface.

It suits contemporary and minimal interiors — white or soft grey walls, matte black hardware, simple joinery — and it works particularly well in bathrooms and laundries where a stone look is wanted and water is guaranteed.

This is a 1520 × 230mm board, the wider format in this range, which suits the broader visual scale of a stone decor. There is no species cross-link for this colour because there is no timber species behind it.
