Coastal Oak Collection

Coastal Oak shares its construction with the Noble Oak Collection — 14.5mm total thickness, a 3mm European Oak veneer, eight to ten coats of UV lacquer over a wire-brushed face — but differs in two ways that matter on site.

The first is the palette. Where Noble Oak runs from whitewash through to smoked, Coastal Oak is tuned specifically to the light and colour of a bayside house: soft greys, pale sands, weathered driftwood tones and warm natural oak. These are floors chosen to sit with white walls, water views, linen and pale stone, and they read differently in coastal light than a warmer inland palette does.

The second is the board format, and it is the more practical difference. Coastal Oak is supplied nested — each box contains a mix of shorter and full-length boards, with a minimum length of 600mm. Nesting exists for a reason: a floor made entirely of full-length boards has a regular, slightly mechanical rhythm to its end joints, while a mix of lengths produces the random stagger of a traditional timber floor. It also reduces waste, because the shorter boards fill the ends of runs that would otherwise be cut from full planks and discarded.

Worth knowing at quoting stage: nested boxes make a floor look better and make the installer's job slightly more involved, since board selection matters more as the floor is laid. We factor that into the labour estimate rather than treating it as an extra.

The wire-brushed surface has the same benefits as elsewhere in our engineered oak — real texture underfoot, grain you can see and feel, and a matte lacquer that hides everyday micro-scratching far better than a gloss coating. The tongue-and-groove profile means direct stick or float over a high-density underlay, and the bevelled edge gives each board its own shadow line.

Coverage is 2.166m² per box. The warranty is 20 years on residential wear plus a lifetime structural warranty on the core — the wear term is shorter than Noble Oak's, which is the honest difference between the two ranges, though both carry the same 3mm veneer and the same refinishing potential.

Slip rating, acoustic rating, Janka and planks per box are not published for this range and appear as confirm-on-enquiry below rather than as estimates. If your project has a specified acoustic or slip requirement, ask before ordering.

This range suits bayside and coastal homes, holiday houses, and any renovation working in a light, relaxed palette where a heavy or golden floor would fight the room. Use it through living areas, bedrooms and hallways, and keep it out of bathrooms and laundries — the veneer is real oak and needs treating as timber.
