Not every job is a full sand. Sometimes you have three or four damaged boards, a section around a former wall, or a spot where the fridge leaked twenty years ago — and everything else is fine.
We do targeted floorboard repairs across the Peninsula: lift the damaged section, source matching timber, patch it in cleanly, and blend the finish to the surrounding floor.
Where we can, we salvage from an inconspicuous section — inside a cupboard, under a fixed piece of furniture — so the visible patch is the same age and colour as the rest of the room.
OUR PROCESS
- 01 Assess damage and identify a salvage source in the same house where possible.
- 02 Cut back damaged boards to full-length end-joints.
- 03 Lift and replace with matched stock.
- 04 Sand the repair area and feather into surrounding floor.
- 05 Match finish and coat the repaired section.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Can you match my existing boards?
For older hardwoods, the best match is usually salvage from within your own house — a cupboard, under a wardrobe, under the fridge. Where that’s not possible, we source the closest modern equivalent.
Will the patch be visible?
Slightly, at first. Once the finish is on and the timber ages together, most patches are hard to spot from a metre away.
What if the damage covers a big area?
At a certain point it’s more cost-effective to sand the whole room. We’ll tell you honestly where the tipping point is.
Do you fix squeaks and loose boards?
Yes — loose boards get re-fixed, and squeaks that come from movement can usually be addressed by re-securing the board or shimming from below.
What about the gap where a wall was removed?
We infill with matched boards in the original run direction. Depending on the age of the surrounding timber, we may recommend a full-room sand to blend everything.
How long does a repair job take?
Small repairs are usually a day, plus dry time for the coating. Larger patches with a room sand run two to three days.
Do you replace individual boards with a floating floor?
No — only proper tongue-and-groove repair, lifted and re-set into the existing floor structure.
Is it worth repairing or should we just re-floor?
Almost always worth repairing. Original hardwood ages beautifully and cannot be bought new. Replacement costs more and looks obvious for years.
