Acoustic Timber Collection

The Acoustic Timber Collection exists to solve a specific problem: hard flooring in a building where noise transmission is a real constraint, or where the usual hybrid floor feels too hard and hollow underfoot.

Most hybrid floors use a synthetic foam underlay bonded to the base of the board — commonly IXPE, a cross-linked polyethylene. It works, it is cheap and it is thin. This range replaces it with 1.5mm of natural cork, and the difference is immediately obvious the first time you walk on it. Cork is a genuinely resilient material with a cellular structure that absorbs impact rather than transmitting it, and it does two things at once: it deadens the sound of footfall for the room below, and it gives the floor a slight, perceptible give underfoot. Standing on it for an hour in a kitchen is a different experience to standing on a rigid board over foam.

Cork also insulates. It slows heat transfer from a cold concrete slab into the room, which in a ground-floor apartment or a slab-on-ground extension makes the floor noticeably less cold in winter.

The core is rigid limestone composite — stone powder in a polymer matrix, entirely waterproof and dimensionally stable — at 7mm total thickness including the cork. The wear layer is 0.5mm and commercial-grade, which puts this range well above a domestic-only rating for durability. The surface is embossed matte with a four-sided micro-bevel, so each board is defined on all four edges and the floor reads as individual planks rather than a sheet.

Board sizes differ by decor, which is unusual and deliberate: Australian-species boards are 1520 × 180mm, while the European-oak-look boards are wider at 1520 × 230mm. The wider format suits the broader grain scale of an oak decor, and the narrower one is closer to the proportions of Australian hardwood strip flooring. Check which format applies to the colour you are considering.

Installation is floating, using an angle-to-angle click profile — no adhesive, and the floor stays liftable.
