Silver Mink

Silver Mink is the grey board in the Noble Oak range, and it is a considered grey rather than a flat one. The tone is a soft grey-brown — enough brown that it never reads as concrete, enough grey that it stays firmly cool — and the wire-brushed texture keeps it from looking like a painted surface.

That balance is what makes a grey timber floor work or fail. A pure grey stain over oak tends to look synthetic, because no timber is actually that colour. Leaving the brown underneath lets the grain read as wood while the overall impression stays contemporary and cool.

It is the most architectural floor in the collection and suits interiors working in a modern palette: white or soft grey walls, matte black or brushed nickel hardware, engineered stone, minimal joinery. It also does something useful in a room with a lot of warm-toned furniture, where a cool floor stops the whole space tipping orange.

Practically, the mid-depth grey is forgiving. It is dark enough that dark grit does not stand out and light enough that dust does not, which puts it among the easier boards here to keep looking tidy. In Classic grade the knots read as darker punctuation against the grey rather than the warm accents they become on Bali Oak — a different effect, and worth seeing a sample of before committing.
