Ballina Sand

Ballina Sand sits between Coastal Mist and Empire Natural: lighter than a true natural oak, but with the warmth left in rather than cooled out. The result is a soft sandy tone, close to dry beach sand in flat light, that reads light without reading grey.

That combination is harder to find than it sounds and it is the reason this board gets specified so often in Peninsula coastal homes. A cool pale floor can feel clinical in a beach house; a golden floor can feel heavy. Ballina Sand keeps the brightness while holding enough warmth that the room still feels relaxed rather than sterile.

The grain is visible but understated, with the pale finish reducing contrast between the open grain and the surrounding timber. Across a large open-plan area it reads as a calm, continuous surface, and it does a good job of making a modestly sized room feel larger.

It pairs naturally with the coastal palette — whites, soft greys, pale timbers, linen — and holds up well against the mid-blues and sage greens that turn up in Peninsula holiday homes.
