Spotted Gum Natural

Spotted Gum Natural reproduces the most recognisable Australian hardwood floor there is. The decor carries the species' characteristic orange-to-chocolate colour swing, with darker feature marks running through a warmer mid-brown ground.

Of all the decors in this range this is the highest contrast, and that has real consequences for how the floor behaves in a room. Strong board-to-board variation is very good at disguising things. Crumbs, pet hair, the odd scuff and the general debris of a busy household disappear into the pattern rather than sitting on top of it. In a family kitchen or a hallway off a back garden, that is worth more than it sounds.

The trade-off is presence. This is not a quiet floor. In a small room it can dominate, and it takes a confident hand to pair it with strongly patterned tiles or benchtops. Given plenty of space and simple surroundings — white walls, plain joinery — it looks generous rather than busy.

It reads most convincingly in rooms with good natural light, where the embossed texture catches shadow and the colour variation resolves into something close to real timber. Under flat artificial light the repeat becomes easier to spot.
