Coastal Sand

Coastal Sand is the pale warm board in this range — light enough to brighten a room, warm enough that it never tips toward grey. The tone sits close to dry beach sand, and in strong light it reads almost bleached while still holding a soft golden base.

That combination is the reason it gets specified so often in bayside houses. A cool pale floor can feel clinical in a beach house; a golden floor can feel heavy in summer. Coastal Sand keeps the brightness and the relaxed warmth at the same time, which is a harder balance to strike than it appears.

The wire-brushing is subtle at this tone. With little contrast between the recessed grain and the raised surface, the texture registers more underfoot than in the eye, and the overall effect across a large area is calm and continuous rather than busy.

It pairs naturally with the full coastal palette — whites, soft greys, pale timbers, linen, rattan — and holds its own against mid-blue and sage green. It also makes a modestly sized room feel appreciably larger.

The practical advantage in a coastal house is real: of every board in this collection, this is the best at hiding tracked-in sand. Dark grit shows more than it would on a mid-brown floor, but sand effectively disappears, and in a house a few streets from the beach that is the debris you are actually dealing with.
