Natural Ash

Natural Ash is a pale blond decor reproducing the Victorian Ash look — soft straw-to-blond with the faint pink undertone characteristic of that timber group, and a fine straight grain with little dramatic figure.

It is the softest-toned board in this range. Where Australian Blackbutt is golden, Natural Ash is cooler and slightly rosier, and the effect in a room is gentle rather than bright. It is a quiet floor that does not assert itself.

That makes it a good match for the era of house it evokes. Victorian Ash and Tasmanian Oak were laid extensively through mid-century Victorian homes, so in a 1950s or 1960s Peninsula property this decor sits naturally with the original timber windows and simple detailing. It also suits a contemporary minimal interior for the same reason — it stays out of the way.

The fine straight grain keeps the floor visually calm across a large area, and the low contrast means it works well in smaller rooms where a busier decor would feel crowded.

As with any pale floor, dark grit shows more than it would on a mid-brown board, though the fine grain pattern helps break it up. Dust is well hidden.

At 6mm it is a practical choice where floor height against existing surfaces is a constraint.
