When a floor is past restoring — or when you’re fitting out a new room, extension or Peninsula renovation — we install new solid and engineered timber floors.
On the Peninsula we install Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Tasmanian Oak, European Oak and quality engineered products from Australian and European suppliers. What we install depends on the room, the subfloor, the climate exposure and the budget.
Every install is followed by a proper sand-and-polish, so the finished floor reads as one continuous surface rather than a pack-and-click product.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Solid or engineered?
Depends on your subfloor and how much timber you want under your feet. Concrete slabs almost always suit engineered. Timber-framed subfloors can take either. We’ll advise once we’ve seen the site.
What timber suits a coastal Peninsula home?
Blackbutt and Spotted Gum are proven performers coastally. European Oak in engineered form is also fine. We avoid species that move too much with humidity swings.
How long does a new install take?
Depends on area. A typical living zone is a week to install and finish. A whole house can be two to three weeks including acclimatisation and coating time.
Do you install pre-finished flooring?
We can, though most of our work is unfinished timber, installed and then site-finished. Site-finish gives a smoother, sealed surface without click-lock joins between boards.
What if the subfloor isn’t level?
We level it — either with a self-levelling compound on concrete, or with packing and shimming on timber-framed subfloors, before install.
What warranty do we get?
Manufacturer warranty on the timber product itself, plus our workmanship warranty on the install and finish.
Can you match an existing floor in the adjoining room?
We’ll match species and board width as closely as possible. New timber will look brighter until it ages — a stain or careful selection can help blend.
Can I install over tiles?
Sometimes, with engineered products and an appropriate underlay. Usually the tiles are better off coming up so we can start from a proper substrate.
